Forward Deployed Engineer

Onsite (Thailand)

Full-time

Work directly with schools to turn discovery, rollout, implementation, and feedback into reliable deployments educators can use and the internal team can build from.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with school leaders, teachers, and the internal product and engineering team to understand workflows, constraints, goals, and success measures.
  • Lead discovery meetings, demos, onboarding, training, and school-facing implementation support in real operational settings.
  • Translate school needs into clear product requirements, rollout plans, and practical solution approaches.
  • Work with the internal product and engineering team to understand technical constraints and support configuration, lightweight solutions, prototypes, and troubleshooting where needed.
  • Feed structured user feedback, bugs, feature requests, and implementation lessons back into the product development process.
  • Create reusable playbooks, training materials, and deployment patterns that improve future rollouts and help deepen school usage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Education, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Candidates who are still completing their degree may also be considered where their availability and demonstrated experience support effective on-site contribution.
  • Bilingual Thai and English, with fluent Thai and strong professional English.
  • Broad technical understanding across software systems, data workflows, and AI-assisted product features; deep specialization is helpful but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in meetings, demos, training, and stakeholder discussions with school leaders and teachers.
  • Strong discovery skills and the ability to turn ambiguous school needs into clear action plans.
  • Strong organization, reliability, and follow-through in pilots, school-facing work, and implementation support.
  • High empathy for educators and the ability to build trust with non-technical users.
  • Comfort working on site with schools in Thailand and traveling locally as needed.

Especially helpful

  • Experience in EdTech, school operations, teaching, curriculum, academic administration, customer success, solutions engineering, or account management.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, React, no-code or low-code tools, AI tools, or data analysis.
  • Experience introducing or supporting products in real operational environments, especially where training, rollout, or stakeholder coordination are involved.

The level of school-facing ownership and deployment scope will be calibrated to demonstrated capability. We welcome strong early-career candidates as well as more experienced operators with relevant technical and implementation experience.

Note: This role requires regular in-person work with schools in Thailand. Some flexibility in working hours is possible where school schedules and coordination needs require it.

  • Take ownership of projects from requirements clarification through implementation, release, and iteration based on user feedback.
  • Contribute to software engineering practices through code reviews, design reviews, testing, observability, and documentation.
  • Communicate technical decisions clearly across product, design, and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
